The Calculator Alarm System is based on the House Alarm system. It has the same basic features and functions, but is housed in a fully functional standard desk calculator with thermal tape printing. It uses a standard AC power cord and has internal battery backup (with automatic recharging) for logging and programming functions. There is an integrated motion sensor. See the House Alarm system for more details about all the functions. The advantage is a very stealth alarm system -- it just looks (and works) like a standard desk calculator. There is a similar model that looks like a desk telephone. By entering a special sequence of codes, the calculator goes into alarm mode. In this mode, there are the following additional functions besides monitoring the motion sensors, wired, and wireless sensors: The calculator LED display shows prompts and data entry values. All data entry, and current settings, can be printed out on the calculator tape for verification. Here's a block diagram of the Calculator Alarm. The licensing agreement I have from the "national alarm systems company" does not allow me to disclose their name and some of the more technical details or product pictures. (But I don't suppose they are still in business after the "Digital Choke".) |
