So now you know about the cabin.
Anyhow, survival after the Problem was an on-going concern of mine. I had set up the cabin pretty well for my own survival. There were some final things I would have to do, but they could wait a bit. I needed to gather some more information from the Net.
Let's see. I had just gotten back from Grass Valley, and was at Maria's for dinner. After the great meal at Maria's, I paid the bill and left for home. It was about 7:30 pm before I got home, just about time to grab a cold cherry Kool-Aid from the fridge and sit on the front porch reading the paper. The evening was cooling off nicely down into the 70's, with that nice delta breeze keeping things quite pleasant. No humidity to speak of, of course, the 'valley air conditioner' was doing its job. In fact, it was so pleasant that I nodded off for a bit while relaxing from the day.
At about 8:45, I went inside, changed into my baggy shorts and T-shirt, and walked barefoot into the computer room. I sat down at the computer, checked the log files, and found it was OK. I made the minor changes to the back door programs that I had jotted down during dinner, and copied them to floppy disks. I put on my sandals, grabbed a sweatshirt, and locked up the house (setting the alarm, of course), and left for the apartment.
